Kotori KawashimaMirai-chan: Rose & SkyWeeks Hardcover Book (Monday-Start Week)

Mirai-chan is a charming young girl starring in photographs by Kotori Kawashima taken over the course of a year in Sado Island. The photography book "Mirai-chan" was a big hit in Japan, but these Kotori Kawashima Weeks covers feature photographs taken during Mirai-chan’s first overseas trip and are not included in the publication. In order to give this Weeks the feel of a bound photography book, the book cover is given a glossy finish and embossed with the label 2016.

This slightly flexible hardcover Rose & Sky book depicts a bright, sunny day in Paris as Mirai-chan playfully blows a kiss to the roses blooming around her. The photograph stretches across the entirety of the front and back of the cover. Inside the cover on the front and back endpapers are photographs of Mirai-chan exploring unfamiliar cafes and restaurants. Included with the book is a pencil board with a photograph on either side of the board, both taken on Sado Island―summer on the front, and winter on the back. The bookmarks are a contrast of red and blue. Let this candid young girl charm you with her rosy cheeks and bowl-cut hair, and she’ll go everywhere you do.

Also available is Kotori Kawashima’s other Mirai-chan Weeks book, Rooftop Window.

    Please Read Before You Buy

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.

Test fountain pens before regular use

The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.

    Avoid moisture and humidity

The book cover is made of paper products, so exposure to moisture or humidity may result in a warped or fragile cover.

    Avoid using with Clear Cover

The glossy book cover easily sticks to the PVC plastic of the Clear Cover. Please refrain from using the Clear Cover with this product, as it may affect the integrity of the book - as well as the ability to open and close it.

Color from endpaper prints may cause stains

The endpaper inside either side of the book cover is printed on a color printer, so the ink may rub off on anything tucked into this area.

Corners of cover may be slightly uneven

The cover may have press markings or slight bumps on the corners inside the cover. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.

Correction and Apology for Typographical Error in Solar Terms section

One of the Japanese characters in the Solar Terms explanation is incorrect, as listed below.

    白露 (White Dew)
Incorrect: 昔の人は、草木に降りた霜が (Long ago, people saw the frost on the plants...)
Correct: 昔の人は、草木に降りた露が (Long ago, people saw the dew on the plants...)
