Akiko MiyakoshiAn Airport at NightA5 Cousin Size

  • 2027 New

We collaborated with picture book author Akiko Miyakoshi to create this techo cover.

Warm yellow lights glow against a quiet, black background. Titled “An Airport at Night,” this piece captures the scenery Miyakoshi saw at an airport during her own travels, along with the feelings she experienced in that very moment.

“On my way home from a wonderful trip, as I was stepping off the plane, I caught a glimpse of this kind of view through the window. Seeing someone taking their time at the gate, I thought to myself, ‘Ah, that person’s journey is just beginning.’ I felt a twinge of envy and let my imagination wander, wondering where they might be headed,” says Miyakoshi.

The artwork on the front cover continues across the back and all the way into the inner right pocket. We designed it as one large, continuous picture, allowing you to feel the passage of time and the lingering mood of the scene.

Peek inside the pocket on the back of the cover and you’ll find that a little time seems to have passed — the bear that was walking through the scene is no longer there.

To faithfully reproduce the delicate touch and beautiful color of the original artwork, we chose a finely textured polyester material. The bookmarks are made from a bright yellow ribbon. The inner left pocket features the words “Unforgettable Moments.” — the concept at the heart of this design.

The Akiko Miyakoshi series includes techo covers, a Weeks, pencil boards, and a notebook. We hope you’ll enjoy using them together as a set. See the full Akiko Miyakoshi series here.

As you carry this techo with you through the year, we hope it becomes filled with your own Unforgettable Moments.

We’ve compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Additionally, the color of the product may be slightly different in actuality than compared to how it appeared on a computer or smartphone screen.

Cover may contain variations in stitching or loose lining

Due to the structure of the cover that opens flat 180 degrees, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.

Pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm wide

The pen holder is designed to fit the 12.2 mm (0.48") diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive Bonus. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53") in diameter.

Color and print may vary slightly

The cover's color and print pattern are created by dyeing or printing onto white fabric. While we take care to ensure consistency during production, slight variations in color or pattern may occur between individual items. This may also happen across a single cover, such as a pocket compared to the rest of the cover. Minor print blurring or uneven coloring may also be present. In addition, on rare occasions, there may be small black or white dots visible on the print. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.
