Techo team members will be talking about sales information,
their recommended stationery, usage examples, and more.
Hello! My name is Wenlai, and Ifm one of the people in charge of managing the Hobonichi Techo online store.
Todayfs theme, gWhich techo and stationery will I be using in 2026?h, is a tough one—there are just so many to choose from!
The techos Ifve picked are mostly in calm, neutral colors. Among them, Yumi Kitagishifs stationery really stands out vividly. Ifm the type who buys stationery on impulse without thinking too much—I figure out how to use it later.
This year I've paired the MOTHER Weeks with the Clear Cover "Stripes".
Theyfre vertical stripes, but don't they remind you of the scanning lines on an old CRT TV? Combined with the monochrome cover, it feels so nostalgic.
Ness and the gang are a little hidden, but thatfs fine.
Ifve put a Day-Free inside the Cousin-size Letter cover. Itfs thinner and softer than I expected! The string clasp that wraps around like an envelope keeps the content nice and snug. I love designs where you can feel the craftsmanship. I think Ifll attach the embroidered white cat bookmark here.White cat, dingle dangle. So cute.
Actually, Ifve been using more and more techos each year.
I started using the Hobonichi Techo in 2023, from right around the time I joined the company. I began using an Avec Book 2 (Jul-Dec) in an Original-sized cover.
2023: 1 techo The cover features tile art of Mr. Saturn—the red accents are lovely.
I used it as a diary, writing roughly with a fountain pen. You could say my handwriting looked pretty rugged.
2024: 2 techos
In 2024, I started using the Weeks. I came across it at Loft one day, and was struck by how delicate Tomitaro Makinofs illustrations were. I bought it on the spot—total cover love at first sight. In the bottom left, I would jot down English and Chinese phrases Ifd recently learned.
The Weeks is the perfect size to carry everywhere and take quick notes. I also paste stickers and paper bits—like tickets or fortunes. I write down small things from conversations that made me happy or moments I want to remember.
2025: 3 techos
Now itfs 2025, and Ifm using three techos. This year, I added a Day-Free—a Christmas gift from Santa (it's true!).
I donft have any specific rules for how I use the Day-Free. I just keep it on my desk, and pick it up whenever I feel like writing something. I use it to organize my progress on goals, write poems, or jot down my thoughts on a movie. Itfs a bit of a luxury time for me.
So for 2026, Ifm planning to keep using three techos.
But if that number goes up... well, it goes up. Ifm sure Ifll find something to use it for.
After all, I really do enjoy writing.
Well then!
Please look forward to tomorrowfs Techo Kaigi update, too!
