I haven't decided which techo to use for 2025 yet, but there is one piece of stationery I've already set my heart on buying.
That is Penco’s Bullet Ballpoint Pen Light
sold at TOOLS ＆ TOYS, the Hobonichi techo's Stationery Store.

It weighs only about 8g, making it super light. Even it’s so tiny, when you attach the cap to the back end, it becomes just the right length for a comfortable grip.
Compared to the 3-color ballpoint pen, special gift offered with the purchase of selected techo at the Hobonichi Store, it feels slightly shorter, but the size is just perfect for holding.
This pen is a great companion for your techo, but it also seems ideal for travel when you just want to bring a small note pad and a pen.
Above all, the vivid and somehow nostalgic color is just so cute.

Shoppe ObjectはBtoBの展示会で、
平たく言うと
“ほぼ日手帳をあつかってくださる
店舗の方と出会う場”です。

会場内はジャンルを問わず
たくさんの出展者さんの活気で
溢れていました！

Shoppe Object is a B2B trade show, where we had the chance to meet with retailers interested in carrying the Hobonichi Techo. The venue inside was lively and bustling with exhibitors from all sorts of categories!

ニューヨークに舞いおりたひとつめの理由は、
Shoppe Objectという展示会に
出展するためでした。

PIER 36というマンハッタンの南岸に位置する
港の近くで開催されるこの展示会には
お洒落なブランドがずらり。

The first reason we landed in New York was to exhibit at Shoppe Object, a stylish trade show held at Pier 36 on Manhattan’s southern waterfront.

手帳チームが９月の発売に向けて
大詰めの作業をしていた８月初旬、
海外チームのとの２人は、
なんとニューヨークに・・・！？

情報解禁日前のため
渡米中はなにもお伝えできなかったので
この場を借りてニューヨークの様子を
すこし共有させてください。

At the beginning of August, while the Hobonichi Techo team was busily preparing for the launch day in Japan, Hiro and I from the international sales team were in New York! We couldn’t share anything earlier because the information about the Hobonichi Techo 2025 hadn’t been released yet, but I’d like to take this opportunity to share how things went in New York.

今年は、手帳やカバーだけでなく
文具も過去最多ラインナップ数。

わたしは「Fireside Chat Note」が
気になっています。
ほぼ日手帳の「日々の言葉」にも
ときどき登場する
「セフティ・マッチ氏」のことばが
表紙に刻まれたノートなんですが、
カラーもデザインもとっても素敵です。


下の写真は、8月28日までTOBICHI東京で
開催されていた「新作発表会」で、
「Fireside Chat Note」のコーナーに
飾っていた使用例です。

これは、乗組員のが
書いたものなのだそうですが、
近々チェコ旅行に行こうと企てている
わたしにとって、
とっても参考になるページだったので、
思わずパシャリ。

TOBICHIや各地で開催される
ほぼ日手帳のイベントでは、
お買い物の参考にしてもらえるように、
実際の商品を使って、
乗組員が手描きしたイラストや
手書きしたメモなども
たくさん飾られているので、
「こんな使い方もあるのか〜」
というふうに、ちょっと気にして
見てもらえるとうれしいです◎


This year, not only do we have the largest lineup of planners and covers, but also the most stationery items ever!

I'm particularly interested in the "Fireside Chat Notebook". It's a notebook with words from "Safety Match," who sometimes appears in the "Daily Quotes" section of the Hobonichi Techo, engraved on the cover. The color and design are both incredibly charming.

The photo below was taken at the Preview Party held at TOBICHI Tokyo until August 28th. It shows an example of how the "Fireside Chat Notebook" can be used, displayed in its section.

This particular example was created by one of our crew members, Komata. Since I'm planning a trip to the Czech Republic soon, I found this page really helpful, so I snapped a photo.

At TOBICHI and the other Hobonichi Techo event, you'll find hand-drawn illustrations and handwritten notes by our crew members using the actual products. We hope you'll take a closer look and think, "Oh, I could use it this way too!"

Yamada, one of our techo team designers, is torn on which Weeks to pick.

She love plants, so the "Unsodo / Bijutsukai (Tanabata Decorations)" with themulberry leaves is the top favorite. But "PAMM / thanks sea" and "yuge fabric farm / Fish Scale Crest" are so gorgeous too, and it's making the decision really tough!

I totally feel you, Yamada!

At the Hobonichi Store, we're offering a special gift with the purchase of selected techo: the uni (Mitsubishi Pencil) 3-color ballpoint pen, JETSTREAM.

This year, it comes in a vibrant vitamin color with a yellow body and orange grip.

When I first saw this color combination, I thought that this will definitely lift my spirits every time I use it. I was so excited.
Many of you might already know, but this pen glides smoothly and feels great to write with. It also matches perfectly with the Tomoe River paper used in our techo.

[A bonus notebook with 160 pages!]

Some of you may be familiar with our Hobonichi Store Exclusives?they're bonus items that come with eligible techo books purchased at the Hobonichi Techo Official Website, Tobichi stores in Tokyo and Kyoto, and at events hosted by Hobonichi.

One of the exclusives for this year is the Hobonichi 5mm Graph Paper Notebook (Bonus Item). The cover design features fun colors and looks modern, but are actually designs from over 100 years ago. The color scheme the designs are beautiful.

It uses thin and durable Tomoe River paper, so while it looks thin and compact, it actually contains 160 pages!

The grid size is 5mm and the color of the grid is blue.

There are 4 cover designs in total, and you'll receive one of the randomly chosen designs for every eligible book you buy.

シンガポールにお住まいのJacquelynさんの手帳を紹介します。

「その日に引いたタロットのカードと、哲学書からの引用。あとは、思ったことや、自分にとって大事なことを忘れないように書き留めています。それと『千字文』から漢詩を2句ずつ写しています」

文字を書くスペースと、コラージュを楽しむスペースを明確に分けて、メリハリのある使い方をしています。シールのイラストが、本の挿絵のようにも見えますね。
キノコや葉っぱのモチーフは、私も大好きです！

全然違う使い方をいっぺんにできちゃうのも、A5サイズのカズンならでは。

Jacquelynさんのように、複数の言語で手帳を書く方もけっこういらっしゃいます。


Here's a look at Jacquelyn's techo from Singapore.

"My Tarot card draw for the day; Quotation from The Daily Stoic and my thoughts; (Reminder of) My wants and what is important to me. 2 stanzas of the 1000 character Chinese classic."

She clearly separates the space for writing and the space for enjoying collages, creating a well-balanced layout. The stickers look like book illustrations. I also love mushroom and leaf motifs!

What's nice about the A5-sized Cousin is that you can use it in lots of different ways at the same time.

There are quite a few people, like Jacquelyn, who write in multiple languages in their techos.
