Slash is a basic design for the HON, a hardcover techo with an integrated cover. On a dark navy cover that looks almost black, a diagonal slash is foil-printed in gold.
The design is based on the forward-slash symbol ( / ) used when writing dates. The cover fabric has a matte texture that feels wonderful in your hands and is resistant to grime, as well as wear and tear.
The spine is foil-pressed in gold with the year 2027 and the HON logo, so you can easily identify which year’s techo it is when it’s placed on your bookshelf alongside other books.

Like the Hobonichi Techo, the HON features thread-stitched binding, so it opens flat at 180 degrees and stays that way — no need to hold the pages down.
The pages are made of thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper that holds ink well, providing a smooth writing experience.

The back of the techo contains bonus pages.
The English edition features standard favorites like My 100, Favorites, and the 365 Days Check-Off Sheet, alongside new additions like Phrases to Break That Writer’s Block, Hard-to-Translate Japanese Words, and the Hobonichi’s Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map.
The Japanese edition includes standard favorites like My 100, Favorites, and Solar Terms, as well as new additions like Phrases to Break That Writer’s Block, Useful Sign Language Phrases to Know, and the Hobonichi’s Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map.
We also offer a pencil board with a 5 mm grid, designed exclusively for the HON.
Note: Starting with the 2027 edition, the pencil board is sold separately.

We’d also love to welcome comments from customers who purchased their techo outside the Hobonichi Store or received their book as a gift.

The Tomoe River paper designed for planners is known for its thinness and smooth writing surface. However, depending on the type and amount of ink or pen used—as well as environmental conditions—some ink may bleed through or take longer to dry. We recommend testing your pens on an inconspicuous area first, or using a pencil board or blotting paper for best results.
