Hello, I’m Higashi from the techo team. Isn’t it so much fun to see everyone’s Techo Kaigi? After reading all of my teammates’ posts each day, I finally decided on my own techos for next year!



Every year, I usually just pick whichever techo feels right at the time, so this is actually my first proper Techo Kaigi. I started by reflecting on how I used my techo in 2025 and thought about how I’d like to use it next year, noting down whatever came to mind.

My reflections are on the left, and on the right are photos of the techos I want to use and how I’ll use them.

As I gradually organized my thoughts, I decided to use three techos in 2026: one for my diary, one for hobby tracking, and one for work. Allow me to introduce some of my favorite points about each, and how I'm planning to use them!

Diary
Kyohei Sakaguchi: Field Sky [A5 Cousin Size]


Just looking at Kyohei Sakaguchi’s pastel sky illustration gives me a calm, peaceful feeling.



The cover has a soft, smooth texture, and every time I hold it, it makes me a little happy. I plan to set the Cousin book inside and write freely about my day, my plans, and little everyday moments.



Since the Cousin is quite heavy, I always debate whether to go with the Avec books instead, but I want the feeling of getting to the end of the year and seeing how few pages are left.

The year’s almost over already...!

After much deliberation, I finally decided on using the regular Cousin book. I’m already looking forward to next fall.

Hobby Tracker
Makoto Matsubayashi: Dot [Weeks]

I thought this design for the Weeks was beautiful the second I saw it. Each dot is hand-drawn, so they’re all slightly different sizes and shapes.

Finding the little flower shapes hidden among them makes me happy too.

I plan to use this one to log my hobbies—books I read, places I want to go, travel plans, and notes from events. I think it’s perfect for collecting all the things I’m interested in.



I chose iyo okumi’s Happy Tea Time pencil board to go with it. The black characters living in a forest utopia somehow match the color of this techo—it just felt right, so I picked it on instinct.

Work Techo
Tolight: A Bright Year [Weeks]

Even the brand card that comes with purchase is adorable.

For work, I chose this Weeks with its bold floral cover. Each time I open it, I think it’ll give me that little extra spark to do my best.

The flower motif has a glossy shine to it.

I’ll use it for schedules, to-do lists, and also jot down new ideas and things I want to try—anything that helps me grow in my work.

The 2026 lineup's new TSUKI no IRO stationery series really caught my attention, so I bought the items interested me the most. The calm, muted colors make them easy to use in all sorts of ways, and buying them all together like this just makes me excited.

Hello, I’m Airi. I'm new to the techo team this year. I’ve been carrying out Techo Kaigi after Kaigi since August, and finally decided on my choices for 2026.

Here they are, ta-da!

Wow! I didn’t realize I had this many until I lined them up.

When I couldn’t decide, I just went ahead and bought it. If I’m going to get it eventually, the earlier the better, right? After all, if you think of it as a per-day cost, it’s actually cheaper the sooner you start using it! Especially when just owning them makes me happy.

Sorry for sending you jumping around the internet, but I share different ways to enjoy the Hobonichi Techo in all kinds of places, so I’d be really happy if you took a look! I’ll be showing how I use my 2026 techos in lots of different forms too.

Recently, thanks to the Hobonichi Techo App I’ve been able to memo the things I want to write in my techo without forgetting and the memory print feature helps make filling out my reading log easier. It’s such a reliable companion for my techo.

Hello, I’m Komata from the techo team. On this page, we’ve been sharing the Techo Kaigi sessions of different team members every day. This time, I held my own to decide which planner I’ll be using in 2026.



I’ve been using the One Piece edition techo since 2023, so I thought I'd continue again this year but then... I saw The Little House-inspired HON, which was so lovely, and then 100%ORANGE’s Squirrel Squadron cover, which was so cute too! I couldn't stop teetering between them.



In the end, I decided on the “Hiriluk’s Cherry Blossoms” HON. That deeply moving episode is expressed in a beautifully woven design, with snow, cherry blossoms, and the moon creating an almost dreamlike scene. I love that it also includes extra pages like the One Piece timeline, trivia, and even a fluffy animal encyclopedia!

For my pencil board, I picked the Memories - Punk Hazard design, because of the cute tab at the top. There are also so many new stationery items coming out, so I’m planning to add a few more to my collection soon!



By the way, I used to be a Weeks and Weeks Mega user. I kept both my work and personal schedules in one notebook. Seen in the photo are my techos from 2019 to 2023.



When the One Piece edition came out in 2023, I switched back to the Original A6 sized book for the first time in a while.



Since moving to the Original from the Weeks, I began pasting things more often than before. When I finish the year and see the pages all puffed up, it feels like proof that it’s been a full and happy year. I really love that.













I paste in things like travel memories, museum tickets, fortunes from shrines, candy wrappers, or sticky notes from work—little souvenirs of my year. For 2026, I hope to fill this HON with lots of wonderful memories, too!

Hello, I’m Shioguchi from the techo team. Is everyone enjoying these Techo Kaigis? I was surprised to see so many Avec and Day-Free users this year. It’s fascinating to read about everyone’s reasons for choosing their particular setups.

Here’s my lineup for 2026.



Next year, I’ll be using one less notebook than 2025 for a total of four techos.

For Work
Paper Series: Sky [Weeks] + Leather: Taut (Gray & Light Blue) Cover

I like to slide in the back cover of my Weeks so I can still enjoy the cover design.

I’ve been using the same Weeks + Weeks cover setup this year, and it’s been such a perfect fit that I’ve decided to continue with it in 2026. The Taut Weeks cover is similar to the B-Jirushi Yoshida's Passport cover I used for years, so I instantly picked it up as its successor. It’s slim and compact and I love how easy it is to carry. The inside is a lovely pale blue too, so I paired it with the Paper Series: Sky Weeks.

This might be the first time I’ve ever chosen my Weeks book based on the color of the cover!

There are other light-blue options, but the Sky Weeks matched the cover perfectly and, honestly, I was drawn in by that sparkling design.

I mainly use this for task management. I list everything I need to do for the week on the right-hand page, then distribute them across the left-hand schedule as I go. I love that I can keep it open on my desk without it taking up too much space.

Scheduling + Hobby Logging
Paper Series: Black Gingham [Weeks]



This year, I used two separate planners for my personal life—a PAMM for scheduling and a Colors for hobby notes. For 2026, I want to consolidate both into one: the Paper Series: Black Gingham Weeks. I plan to put it in a clear cover and slip in stickers and photos.

Objective Tracking + Journaling
Paper Series: Black Gingham [HON A5]



This will be my third year using a techo for goal tracking and journaling, I've used the A5 HON the whole time. This year, I used the Black Gingham and plan to continue using it next year too.



The Black Gingham HON has a slightly thinner, softer cover than the other versions, which makes it feel more like a notebook. It’s casual and easy to write in, which I love.

I write down what I want to do over the year, list out goals, and gather related thoughts and tasks all in one place. Ever since I started using my techo this way, I feel like I’ve really cut down on wasted time.

Diary
Hobonichi 5-Year Techo



I’ve been using the 5-Year Techo as a diary for four years now. I fell a bit behind this year, but the Hobonichi App has given me a second wind.

That wraps up all the techos I plan to use in 2026. It wasn’t intentional, but I ended up choosing all from the Paper Series. They’re lightweight, and I love their understated, minimalist designs—perfect for someone like me.

Stationery
Here are the stationery items I picked up.

TSUKI no IRO: Translucent Sticky Notes

I use mini sticky notes to jot down tentative plans.

As a fan of mini sticky notes, I was thrilled when these came out.
Before, I used to rely on mini notes from the 100-yen shop, but they varied in thickness and were awkward to carry around. These solved all my problems—I'm going to be a repeat buyer for sure!

TSUKI no IRO: Add-on Sticky Notes

I prefer placing them near the middle of the page, where I can still write over them easily.

These are a lifesaver when I need a bit more space in my work Weeks.

ONE PIECE magazine: Rotating Stamp for the Techo - One Piece Sanby x Hobonichi

I don’t really decorate my techo, so I bought this item to push myself. That said, I bought it more for practical use than decoration. I plan to use it mainly in my HON and my hobby Weeks.

It’s perfect for marking logs and plans—and I love the subtle design!

Moomin: Hobonichi Ink-Absorbing Paper



I use a fountain pen in my 5-Year Techo, so I’ll be using this with it. It’s quite thick, so I might even add a bit of perfume or essential oil to it—it would be lovely to have a faint fragrance when opening the pages.

I’m sure I’ll end up picking up a few more things, but for now, this is my lineup.

Hello, I’m Ogawa from the domestic sales team. Have you already decided on your techo for 2026? Today, I’d like to introduce the techo and stationery items I’ll be using next year.

I’ve tentatively decided on these!

I haven’t decided on all of the covers yet.

I’m planning to continue using the same three types of techo I’m using this year. At the start of 2025, I only had one, but as the months went by, that number gradually increased. I’ll introduce each techo and the stationery I use with them, one by one.

1. Diary (Planner + Cover + Stationery)

The first one is my diary, which I use at home.

My diary techo set for 2026.

In 2025, I used the Black Gingham HON, but since I pasted in all sorts of things—tickets, clothing tags, snack wrappers, anything I wanted to keep as a memory—it’s gotten quite thick.

I definitely stuck in too much.

The Black Gingham’s paper cover is soft and flexible, so it’s holding up somehow, but I doubt other HON covers would fare as well. That’s why I’d been torn between sticking with the HON or switching to a techo with a cover.

While I was still deciding, I joined the YouTube “Hobonichi Techo 2026 New Lineup Showcase LIVE”, where I saw the Tolight cover. The vivid floral colors and the brushstrokes that radiate life instantly captivated me. Since I used to work with flowers, I felt an immediate connection—and decided right then and there that I had to use it!

Knowing myself, my techo will definitely get thicker toward the second half of the year, so I chose a book that would still look good even if it can’t fit in the cover anymore. The Planner’s luxurious black cover with gold foil stamping feels refined and reliable.

When that time comes, I’ll use the freed-up cover as a book cover instead—the A6 size seems very versatile. As for stationery, I’ll be pairing it with the GLOO Roller Tape and a Moomin pencil board. I’ll use the tape to attach things, and the pencil board to make it easier to write afterward. Since the cover has a floral motif, I think the nature-themed Moomin art will match nicely.

2. Work Techo (Cousin Avec)

The second one is for jotting down notes at work.

I’ve got the techo itself, but I’m still deciding on the cover.

In early 2025, I used a single techo for both work and personal life, but from July onward, I added the Cousin Avec Book 2. It’s slim and easy to use, so in 2026 I plan to use the Avec from the start.

I often manage tasks digitally, but just like laying out tools on a workbench, writing down my “today” and “next” tasks in my techo helps me focus on what’s right in front of me.

The Cousin’s generous page size also comes in handy when a sudden phone call comes in—I can jot down notes right away.

3. Writing Techo (Day-Free A5)

The third one I chose is the large A5 Day-Free because the size will allow me to write longer pieces freely on whatever themes I like.

Just the techo for now—no cover yet.

I still have some blank pages left in my 2025 version, but I decided, “I’m going to write even more in 2026!”—so I picked up a new Day-Free early.

I like to decorate my pages by adding washi tape and stickers to the edges, and using date frame stickers in matching colors. It’s my own simple way of decorating.

If you’re also using the Day-Free, I highly recommend the date frame stickers. They come in so many designs so it's fun just choosing which ones to use!

4. Bonus (Stationery)

Up until now, everything I’ve chosen has been in conjunction with my techo, but this is different. This one’s purely from the heart—I couldn’t resist getting Yumi Kitagishi’s stickers. There are 30 different illustrations! Isn’t that amazing?

Even the red background sheet looks adorable.

I plan to use them as reward stickers for myself whenever I accomplish something special.

Hello, I’m Ayumi from the international team.

The Hobonichi Techo Meeting Caravan is an event where Hobonichi Techo users and stationery lovers gather to share and enjoy talking about their techos together.

In October 2025, the caravan made its way to Los Angeles, California. Let’s take a look at what happened!

The event took place at HIGHTIDE STORE DTLA, located inside the 30-acre urban enclave ROW DTLA in downtown Los Angeles.



The store has a nostalgic charm, filled with a delightful selection of playful stationery, original products, and carefully curated goods from across the U.S. and around the world.





We held two sessions this time, with a total of seven participants. I’d like to give a big thank-you to everyone who joined us!

With the meeting underway, we started with self-introductions and an overview of Hobonichi, presented with the help of a handmade picture book.



Then came the main part of the event: everyone brought their own techo(s) and shared how they use it.







Conversations naturally began to flow:
“I’ve always wanted to know more about the Stappo and Drawer Pouches!”
“What size do you find easiest to use?”
Which led to cheerful exchanges of ideas like:
“I use this size.”
“You can fit so much in there!”



Everyone also had fun chatting with each other about things like:
“What do you do on days when you don’t write anything?” and
“Do you have any tips for continuing every day?”



They shared creative ideas and personal tricks which sparked moments of inspiration for everyone. Listening to them made me want to try their ideas in my own techo right away!

There are truly endless ways to use the Hobonichi Techo.
One participant showed us a collage of cards and stickers collected during their travels.



Another person sticks their “must-do tasks for the week” onto their HON pencil board so that it’s always visible.



Someone else managed to fit their schedule, as well as records of their hobbies—like music, books, and games—into their Weeks.



Seeing everyone’s techos filled with personal touches and stories was such a joy. Here are some memorable comments that made me smile during the meeting:

“Sometimes the daily quote perfectly matches what I experienced that day—it feels like I’m having a conversation with the book.”

“Even a blank page tells its own story.”

“My way of using the techo changes every year, which makes looking back at old ones even more fun!”

Hearing all their stories showed me how each person has their own relationship with the Hobonichi Techo and how it blends into their daily life in different ways. We were able to spend an uplifting and wonderful time together.

Finally, we took a commemorative photo to wrap up the event.

Hey, my name’s Liam, and I’m new to the Hobonichi Techo team too. I’m mainly involved in various JP-ENG translations, as well as managing the English mail newsletter.

I’ve been using the Hobonichi for over six years now (I think?), but I have to admit—this is the first time I’ve ever actually sat down and thought about what to buy... my very first Techo Kaigi.

See, I’m typically quite impulsive, especially when it comes to making purchases. Before moving to Japan, I’d browse the Hobonichi Online Store, buy anything that tickled my fancy then figure out how to use them later—or give them away as gifts to friends.

I started out with the Original, which I used to practice kanji and write Japanese sentences every day. As my Japanese improved, so did my relationship with the techo, and it gradually became my daily diary.

When the One Piece Original came out, I immediately switched to that. The following year, I wanted to keep using it but missed the traditional daily quotes, so I ended up writing in both the Cousin and Original every day (yes, both as diaries). To be completely honest though, that only lasted for a little while. After moving to Japan and getting busier, I’ve seriously struggled to keep up with both.

But looking around the office, and seeing all the amazing and fun ideas on the “How to Use It” page, inspired me to try again. While I’ve since found a somewhat working relationship with both of them, that delicate balance is about to be tested...

The Techos

Like I mentioned earlier, I’m using both the Original and the Cousin.
I use the Cousin as a personal diary and the Original has recently become my go-to for work and other notes. I also carry around small notepads to jot things down whenever inspiration hits—like when I’m on the train or reading. But I think in 2026 I can do this a bit better...

First, I tend to stick all kinds of things into my Cousin, so it ends up pretty thick. Even so, I still take it everywhere with me—I love writing in cafés. That’s why next year, I’d like to try the slimmer Avec series.

Secondly, until I joined Hobonichi, I’d never actually seen someone using a Weeks. But now that I have, I can tell it’s perfect for keeping track of daily tasks and small notes.

Which, as you’ll notice, leaves the Original without a role again... and this, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why buying on impulse can be a problem.

See, I only went to Tobichi to see their latest exhibition. But that shop has a strange effect on me—it’s like stepping into another dimension. No matter my intentions, I always leave with something I hadn’t planned to buy but end up loving anyway.

That’s where I first laid eyes on the Dr. Hiruluk’s Cherry Blosssoms Weeks. Before I knew it, I was standing in line with both the One Piece Original A6 and Weeks in tow.

Over several visits to Tobichi recently, I’ve gradually picked up more and more stationery. On my last trip, I bought the Sparkling Silver “Old Guys” Sticky Notes and One Piece Pochitto6. Before that, it was the Square Letter Paper to Share Your Feelings Vol.2, and another time, Vol.3.
I think I need to stop going to Tobichi by myself... it's not good for my bank account.

How I use them

Lately, I’ve been writing lots of letters to friends, and it’s been fun to add a bit of humor and punch to them with these different stickers.


↑There’s something about these strong old characters that makes them perfect for Taro Okamoto’s quotes.

I like to write random quotes on the sticky notes and square letter paper—sometimes as conversation starters, sometimes to make a point, and sometimes just for laughs.

I picked up the Pochitto6 (One Piece). I really didn’t need it—I already have the ONE PIECE Magazine: Stick It with Gusto - DON!! Finally, I ordered the TSUKI no IRO 12 Pen Set online, though they haven't arrived yet. I tried these too when they were on display at Tobichi and was really impressed with the soft colors. In the past, I’ve played around with color combinations, but I always had trouble, either I liked the color but not the writing feel, or vice versa.
I think these are just right.
Wait... am I Goldilocks?

Still, I don’t have to worry about where to keep them—I’ve got my trusty Stappo (Grand Line) to store them in!

Hello! My name is Kawamura, and I’m a new member of the Hobonichi Techo team. I mainly work on writing content for the Hobonichi Techo Magazine. And after only six months on the team, I held my first ever Techo Kaigi! After much careful deliberation, here’s what I bought:

An Original size Avec & Day-Free


Alongside my work at Hobonichi, I also do some editing, so this year I’ve been using:
• HON: for Hobonichi work
• Weeks: for all other work
• Avec: as my private diary and notebook

I’ve used the user manual that came with my techo as the cover of my Avec, so it looks just like a paperback book.

Still, as someone who likes to travel light, carrying both the HON and the Weeks around has been a bit of a challenge. For the past ten years or so, I’ve used planners with a weekly-left layout like the Weeks. This year marked my first time using a page-per-day techo—and I was taken by how easy it is to use! I've been deeply enjoying it for half a year now. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, page-per-day.
That's why for 2026, I’ve decided to use the Original-size Avec as my main, with the Day-Free as a sub.

My first Techo Kaigi had been going smoothly until I hit one question: Which should I pick for my first ever cover? I spent a month and a half gazing at the Hobonichi Store, checking the stockroom, and wandering around Tobichi. Then after long deliberation, there was something about a particular cover—the gracious, confident lines that become this primitive and calming floral design...



I chose Makoto Matsubayashi’s “Silver Flowers!”

Until now, I would tuck postcards and stamps into my bag or between books, but now they have their own proper place.

In the past—actually, up until the start of this year—I’d buy my techo at the end of the year or right after the new year began. But being in the techo team, where the question of “Which one are you getting next year?” starts popping up as early as September, it already—for me—feels like December. And now that I’ve bought my techo, I can't shake that festive New Year’s mood.

What cover should I use for my personal diary next year?
Should I use the user manual + Original again? Or maybe the Bow & Tie: Galloping Horses HON since it's my zodiac year?
Seems like my Techo Kaigi is far from over...

Hello!
I’m Momo, and I work on both the Hobonichi Techo production team and the online store.

After some solo “Techo Kaigi” time, here’s what I decided on for next year’s setup.



At first, I thought I’d use the Cousin English Edition (I actually helped in its production) and I even made a little resolution: “This year, I’ll make sure to actually finish my planner—not just turn it into a random memo pad!”

Beyond that, I wanted to use it more intentionally—to write about my days, keep track of my health, jot down to-dos and passing thoughts, and record my feelings and moments that matter to me.

But midway through my Kaigi, as I picked up the Cousin, I suddenly hesitated. “Maybe... I’m not ready for this yet.” There’s something about those neatly divided pages—they make me feel like I have to write perfectly. Honestly, I’m still not confident I can fill it all up properly...

After wandering around Tobichi and browsing the Hobonichi online store for a while, I started to realize that maybe plain notebooks suit me better. There’s such an ease and comfort in being able to write whatever you want, whenever you want without any rules, or pressure. So next year, I’ll try using a plain notebook like a planner—writing diaries, collecting memories, and letting it all flow freely.

My pick for next year
Hobonichi Blank Notebook [A5 Size]



It’s made with Tomoe River paper and opens perfectly flat. Since I plan to write a lot, I went with the A5 size. I'll jot down my schedule and appointments in a Weeks.

Makoto Matsubayashi “Dot” [Weeks / Japanese Edition]



These dots are actually painted with real paint—each one slightly different in shape and texture. They’re so pleasant to look at.



Blank Notebook + Weeks.
It may be an unusual combo, but I think this might be the setup I can actually stick with. With the notebooks decided, it was time to choose a cover.
And this time, I wanted something bold. A color that lifts my mood just by holding it. So naturally—neon pink!

I’ve been in love with this design since the moment I laid eyes on it. And when I paired it with the Blank Notebook...



It’s perfect. So inspiring.
Makes me want to write—to express myself—all in one place.
And when I add the Weeks...



The neon pink and black-with-white-dot combo pair beautifully! When I make time to write and record, I feel like time itself slows down a little.
Maybe how I spend my days will start to shift, and life might just get a bit more interesting.
To make things even more cheerful, I also picked up another item from the collab with Makoto Matsubayashi.

I’m thinking of using them like this:
•Stick one on the first page of my plain notebook
•Or pop a stamp on one and send it to a friend who loves dots and flowers with a little “What's up?”

And finally, I added one more favorite stationery item.

When I’ve worked hard or want to say “YES!” or “Good job!”, I’ll add a little “Don!!” next to my diary entries or notes.

Next year, I hope to get more comfortable with writing—so that the year after, I can finally use the Cousin English Edition with confidence.

I’ve always admired people who can use multiple techos...

Since there are so many members of the Techo team who use multiple planners so beautifully, I felt inspired to do the same! So for 2025, I bought a total of four planners and notebooks.
And the results...

•5-Year Techo (Diary): Wrote sometimes, skipped sometimes
•Weeks (Reading Log): Completely blank
•Weeks (Food Log): Kept it up for one month, then gave up
•Plain Notebook (Work Notes): Used off and on

Embarrassingly, I didn’t manage to keep up with any of them.

But in last years Techo News, I wrote: “If I manage to stick to my plans, I’ll be reading a book every week and packing lunch every day? I might even become a completely different person by next year!”
And surprisingly, other than during my busiest work periods, I actually did read one book a week—and since September, I’ve been making lunch almost every day. It’s funny, even though I wasn’t writing in my techo, I still managed to make those things happen.

How I'll use my techo in 2026

■ For work
Original (A6) + Tolight: Botanical Garden


To be honest, I usually take notes for work on my computer, so I thought, “Maybe I don’t need a planner for work.”
But during our Techo team meetings, everyone always has their techo open—and I found myself wanting one too.
Plus, I really wanted to use Tolight’s new cover!

↑ If you look closely, you can see a plaid pattern made up of different colored threads. I especially love the purple ones!

↑ I’ve been using the Cousin (A5) until now, but for 2026, I’ll try the Original (A6) for the first time. With the Add-on Sticky Notes, I won’t have to worry about running out of space!

■ Reading Log
Kyohei Sakaguchi: En Route to Kumamoto Port at Dawn


I plan to use this Weeks to record the books I’ve read—though honestly, I’m not sure I’ll manage to use it consistently.
But that’s okay!

I fell in love with this cover at first sight and just had to have it. Even if I don’t end up using it much, I’ll display it at home where I can always see it.

↑ I really love these clouds—their pinkish-orange color almost looks three-dimensional, even though it’s just printed!

5-Year Techo (continued)


I haven’t written a single entry this month. I keep thinking, “I want to start again!”—but once you lose the habit, it’s surprisingly hard to get back into it.

Just then, a powerful ally appeared: the Hobonichi Techo App! It has a super handy feature called Memory Print, which lets you print photos perfectly sized for your techo.

I tried printing both the 20×17mm and 29×22mm sizes.

You could stick it to the right-hand side, but I thought it might be nice to use the space under the date for a diary title, and write the entry next to the photo. I have a feeling this might help me keep up with my techo again!

In 2025, I managed to read books and make lunches, so in 2026 I’m sure I’ll get the hang of the Hobonichi Techo App and write in my techo every day. Then I can finally hold my head high as a true member of the Techo team! If you’re like me and struggle to keep a planner going, please try the app.
