The Hobonichi Techo's thin, smooth Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. We recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry. We also recommend the use of blotting paper and writing with a pencil board underneath the page.
The foil stamping on the cover may begin to peel over continued use.
The cover uses PVC materials that may be warped, stained, or damaged by transfers if kept in contact with printed matter or vinyl material for a prolonged period of time. The PVC also becomes fragile when stored in cold temperatures or unheated rooms during the winter. When cold, the material may crack when dropped.
Please store in a cool, dry place to avoid deterioration from exposure to the sun or humidity.
This book does not contain labels for holidays.
In order to allow customers the enjoyment of all-natural leather, the leather is processed in a way that retains its original feel. This may leave imperfections visible on the surface of the cover, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks.
Depending on the conditions in which the cover is used, natural oils of the leather may emerge and appear as stains. We ask for your understanding for these naturally-occurring characteristics of genuine leather.
In order to provide the full enjoyment of visible changes in aging leather, this product uses natural leather and does not contain dyes. It is possible for leather products used in the same settings to age differently. In addition, the leather may have imperfections visible on the surface, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks. These will stand out less over continued use. We ask for your understanding for these naturally occurring characteristics of genuine leather.
The dye in this product (Black/Red) may stain other objects at first if it rubs against or sticks to them, especially if the cover is damp. Please store with care around clothing and other belongings.
If the product is exposed to warmth or humidity, it may be stained with transfers from any printed pages or adhesive materials in contact with it. The product may also warp or fade, so please store with care.
The foil stamping on the cover exterior may peel if rubbed or scratched. Please handle with care.
The pen hook is designed to hold a pen by its clip. The hook cannot hold pens with extra-wide clips.
When cleaning the product regularly, lightly wiping the surface with a soft, dry cloth is plenty. If using for extended periods of time, we recommend using cleaners and creams designed especially for leather in order to clean any dirty spots and prevent cracking and drying out. Always test these products in an inconspicuous area first.

Due to the construction of the bookbinding to allow the book to lay open completely flat, there may be sections where there is an open gap between the pages. This happens when the book spine is shaped into a curve and varies between each book. Please note this will not cause pages to fall out, and does not negatively affect the strength of the book.
Due to the manufacturing process, the texture varies between each leather cover.
Because the cover uses a firm leather, the cover may feel tight on the book. Please insert the book into the cover a little at a time on each side.
Because the cover uses a firm leather, the front cover may rise from the book in the beginning due to a tight fit. Over continued use, the cover will break in to lay flat with the book.
