This cover features a print by photographer Naoki Ishikawa, who at the time was the youngest person in the world to climb the Seven Summits. This is a photograph of Lobuche Peak in Nepal, which stands at 6,119 meters (20,075 feet). The stark contrast of white snow against the ultramarine sky serves as a beautiful backdrop to the vitality of all those who climb its perilous peaks, one step at a time. We’ve paid special attention to the colors during printing by applying dye in several layers to retain the true colors of the sky on the cotton material. Just looking at this cover is enough to pull its user into the vast world around us.

- All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances
Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but as these products are hand-made, covers are not made as exact copies.
- Print material characteristics
The cover pattern has been printed on material that was originally white, so stitching may expose an inner white portion where the dye did not reach.
- Outer pocket patterns
The outer pocket is designed to align with the pattern beneath it, but pattern alignments may be imperfect due to the manual production process.
- Cover is slightly stiff at first use
This cover uses sturdy materials to reinforce the cover’s thin exterior material and thin interior synthetic leather. This reinforcement may cause the cover to feel stiff and difficult to close properly, but the cover material will loosen more comfortably with continued use.
- Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder
Hobonichi Techo covers come with pen holders that keep the pages shut. Depending on the material of the cover, pens with rubber grips may be difficult to slide into the holder.
- Maximum pen width for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Avoid using with Cover on Cover
This cover uses thicker materials than usual, so it may not fit. Forcing it into a Cover on Cover may damage the products.
