The Japanese Hobonichi Techo “Original” is exactly what its name implies: it is the edition that the English Hobonichi Planner is based upon. It features a format with a page devoted to each day. There’s lots of open space to plan the day ahead and enjoy recording your memories and activities. Think of the pages as containers for random ideas, with a clear record of the date. Paste magazine clippings, ticket stubs and photos to make the planner something completely unique – your imagination is the only limit.

Convenient, portable A6 size

The Original is the same A6 size as the Hobonichi Planner, which is roughly 4″x6″ and easy to pull out anytime to jot a quick note. The techo fits comfortably in a purse, or even a pocket if used without an optional cover. The A6 format has been the size of choice ever since the Hobonichi Techo’s introduction in 2002.A6 is the standard size of small paperback books in Japan and is commonly associated with a perfect size for carrying everywhere.

The Hobonichi Techo is a planner you purchase as a book, followed by the choice of a favorite cover. The cover designs are changed annually, and one of the excitements of using a Hobonichi Techo is browsing the annual lineup to find which cover best suits your personality. The 2015 lineup includes 36 A6 Original covers, which feature lots of pockets and a pen holder that also acts as a latch to keep your techo shut.
