This is a sketch of a Toad Lily that’s seen in the Shikoku area of Japan and is often found in Professor Makino’s illustrations. He was said to avoid colored illustrations because of their tendency to fade and discolor, so it was unusual for him to create a colored diagram. (Crew member: Hoshino)
