Hobonichi Techo’s that will go on sale from October

Sales for the Hobonichi Techo 2021 have started in September, but there also are various techos and related items that start sales on Thursday, October 1st, from 11 AM Japan time. Because there were so many items to cover, we lined them all up on this page. Which one strikes your fancy?
JAPAN MANGA CLASSICS
We’ve created techo’s out of four classic mangas that have been read and loved for generations and will make you excited for the year ahead. Take a look at items that have already begun sales, such as the popular Hobonichi Pencil Board, too.
Doraemon
The national icon Doraemon is now featured on the Hobonichi Techo. The A6 Original cover is reminiscent of the first volume of the Tentomushi Comics series. True to its name "Cover Maker," there are two design inserts that are based on volumes 9 and 18 of the comic series that sit inside the Cover on Cover, allowing you to change up your cover's look. The Weeks book gave the frontispiece from the manga book a shiny effect with a process called inline foil printing. The detailed screentone pattern has a blue metallic shine. Why not spend your year ahead alongside your dependable robot-cat Doraemon?

    Chibi Maruko-chan
Chibi Maruko-chan, a third grader loved by many in Japan for over 30 years, has turned into a Hobonichi Techo. The A6 Original cover depicts the delicate illustration with the weaves of a necktie material that has a slight sheen. The Weeks book prints an illustration by Momoko Sakura of Maruko taking a walk under the vast blue sky with a leaf umbrella in hand. We've created a techo that will match the belongings of an adult nicely too.

      Astro Boy
This Hobonichi Techo features one of Osamu Tezuka's representative works, Astro Boy. The A6 Original cover prints Astro Boy's blueprint in turquoise on an off-white, enamel fabric. The Weeks book shows Astro Boy just as he takes off in a vibrant red. Both express Astro's charm, how cool and stylish the original pictures are, and his power well. We also created an Astro Boy Everlasting "Paper" Bag and laptop case. Spend a bright year with Astro by your side.

        Ranma 1/2
When you think of a characteristic of Ranma 1/2, one that immediately comes to mind will probably be the fact that the characters transform when they're splashed with water. We created two techos that convey the concept of transformation well. The red plaid patterned A6 Original cover shows various characters on the front side, and their transformed selves on the back (for characters that don't transform, they have a different illustration). The Weeks book uses lenticular printing so that when you move it side to side, Ranma switches back and forth between a girl and a boy. Carry the charms of Ranma 1/2 in techo-form.
