Yumi Kitagishi is an illustrator gaining attention in Japan and beyond, and her work has been turned into a Weeks again this year. This 2026 version showcases the full charm of her drawings once more.
The world created by Kitagishi in acrylic gouache draws you in, quietly making you imagine the stories or settings behind each piece for a special kind of wonder. Both nostalgic and exciting, her illustrations perfectly capture the charm of a picture book. The theme for this Weeks is a “White Cat’s Daily Life.”
The day she placed a candle on a cake and celebrated. The day she dressed herself up with a ribbon. The day she enjoyed leisurely hanging out with her stuffed teddy. All of the wonderful moments the white cat experienced in her everyday life are recorded in a vivid memory board.

Both the front cover and the spine showcase the year 2026, and the number on the spine is handwritten by Kitagishi herself. While the number on the front is pressed with silver foil, the one on the spine is in a pink foil, with both shining beautifully as they catch the light.
Once again included this year is an exclusive brand card with an original design. If you use it as a bookmark, opening your techo will become even more fun.
In addition to the cover, we have prepared a variety of items using Kitagishi’s work, such as stickers, a sticky note roll, an embroidered bookmark, a mini folder, a mini letter set, an Everlasting “Paper” Bag and a ballpoint pen, which you can use to match your techo.
If you’d like storage space or a way to change up the look of your Weeks book, you can customize your book by pairing it with a Weeks cover.

If you’ve used any of these products, we welcome your notes on what you like about them or what led you to buy them so we can share it with customers who are currently considering these products. We’d also love to welcome comments from customers who purchased their techo outside the Hobonichi Store or received their book as a gift.
We’ve compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Additionally, the color of the product may be slightly different in actuality than compared to how it appeared on a computer or smartphone screen.
You may notice press marks, slight whitening, or a glossy finish on the corners of the front and back covers. These are unavoidable results of the binding process.
The Tomoe River paper designed for planners is known for its thinness and smooth writing surface. However, depending on the type and amount of ink or pen used—as well as environmental conditions—some ink may bleed through or take longer to dry. We recommend testing your pens on an inconspicuous area first, or using a pencil board or blotting paper for best results.
