Our Henry Cuir covers are individually hand-crafted in leather craftsman Henri Beguelin’s studio in Italy. What ultimately sets these covers apart is the thick cowhide leather, which is vegetable-tanned by hand to allow the color and luster to deepen over years of use. The 2015 edition Henry Cuir cover has a belt-style pen holder. The bamboo charm on the bookmark is branded with the image of two dogs playing.
Caffe has a strikingly deep concentration of color modeled after ristretto, the darkest roast of Italian coffee. The yellow stitching at the top and bottom soften the cover’s overall look while giving it a contemporary feel.

- Original leather feel varies by cover
This cover is painstakingly hand-crafted by an artisan in Henri Beguelin’s workshop in Italy. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences. The individuality of each cover is protected by preserving the naturally-occurring characteristics of leather such as wrinkles, scratches, stains or vein marks. Please note that tone may vary between covers due to factors such as compatibility of the dye and the leather, time of staining, and differences in environment. - Leather coloring stains
Dyed leather products tend to leave stains. Please be careful not to allow the leather to adhere or rub against other objects such as clothing or other belongings, especially if the bag is wet from water or sweat from your hands.
- Bead colors cannot be requested
The beads embroidered into the design come from a variety of colors and are chosen by hand when assigned to each cover. These bead colors cannot be requested, so we hope you enjoy the variation and anticipation in discovering which random bead you receive.
- Not for use with Cover on Cover
The PVC plastic of the Cover on Cover contains plasticizer additives which may cause a reaction in the leather dye and affect the color and quality of the leather cover. Please refrain from using the Cover on Cover with this product.
- Pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm wide
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Immediately dry if it gets wet
Immediately dab your product with a dry cloth if it gets wet. Avoid drying it with high temperatures, and place it in a well-ventilated place in the shade.
- Avoid storing in hot and humid places
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
