What’s nice about the pencil boards and folders

What’s pleasant and convenient when it
comes to the Hobonichi Pencil Board and
Hobonichi Folders?

Write cleanly
                  Hobonichi Pencil Board

These pencil boards are designed to fit perfectly with each size of the Hobonichi Techo. It stops pens from slipping when writing, provides a flat writing surface, and makes it easier to write in your pages.

Let’s test it! With/Without a pencil board

In the top image, we’ve written without a pencil board using the Jetstream pen. In the bottom image, we’ve used the same pen to write with a pencil board. When using a pencil board, the pen tip doesn’t leave marks on the following page from that pressure.
The pencil board prevents a bumpy writing surface and impressions on the following page.

Coordinating with a techo

When picking out a pencil board or folder set
you’ll use with your techo, it’s fun
coordinating the designs to see which ones
will match. Here are some pairing
suggestions.

Hobonichi Pencil Board

Relaxing at homeSurrounded by cute things

This techo cover and pencil board set pairs the
gentle looks of watercolor and hand-drawings.
These cute and heart-warming items will help
you relax at home.

Surrounded by refreshing plantsExperiencing nature around town

The Weeks book is easy to carry around when
you’re out and about. Pair it with a pencil board
with a botanical diagram illustrated by Tomitaro
Makino. Just like professor Makino who
journeyed across hills and fields to discover
plants, we recommend this pairing to people who
want to stay active.

Reflecting on the good old daysAdults will want to draw, too

The pencil board based on the children’s book
Gurunpa’s Kindergarten will let you revisit your
childhood as you draw pictures and write down
your thoughts. Pairing it with a calm, simple
cover makes for a playful combination. The pencil
board makes it easy to incorporate cute things
into the set.

Business and personal useTwo boards for swapping

The crisp and cool design of the Saul Leiter pencil
board works well for business settings, while the
dalmatian puppies are perfect for enjoying
during your personal life. Swapping between two
pencil boards is an easy way to swap the look and
feel of your techo. Both boards also contain
orange to give them a feeling of consistency. We
also recommend making use of both the back and
the front of the boards.

Hobonichi Folder

For the animal-loverStoring colorful stickers and notes

The Ryoji Arai folder set and Hiroko Kubota techo
cover are both illustrated with animals. Either of
them offers a calming feel when carried on its
own, and their gentle designs make them an
alluring option. Use this lovely combo to store
small stickers and notes in one organized place.

Pairing retro designsOrganizing memorable photos
by category

This calming deep green techo cover takes on a
retro feel when paired with the artwork of Yumi
Kitagishi. The Original size folders come in a set
of three, so you can organize things based on
category. You can also keep an Original size
folder set in a larger Cousin size cover.

Organizing daily documentswith refreshing colors

Pair the clean, natural look of the Gingham cover
with the fun and energetic puppies from 101
Dalmations. This timeless and refreshing design
pairing is great for organizing papers. The Cousin
size fits a lot in it, so we recommend storing
things like receipts, which tend to pile up.
