This cover features a charming illustration by multitalented Japanese celebrity Shoko Nakagawa. She drew a picture of her beloved cat Mamitasu, whose initials appear in the cover name, and paid special attention to the color scheme to keep it chic yet appealing for users of all ages. The print has been carefully reproduced in a way that preserves the original illustration, as seen in the striking color of the eyes. We’ve chosen a coarse material for the cover to bring Mamitasu’s furry presence to life, and applied the whiskers in a special silk print to make them really stand out. This cover promises to liven things up every time you pull it out of your bag.
CHARITY: Shoko actually created this cover as a way to save homeless pets by donating part of the proceeds to Japanese selfsustaining animal shelter Mignon, which doubles as an animal hospital and pet salon.

- All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances
Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but as these products are hand-made, covers are not made as exact copies.
- Using Cover on Cover
The PVC plastic of the Cover on Cover may lose elasticity and become difficult to put on when left in cold temperatures. If this happens, we recommend letting the product sit in a warm area before applying to your cover. Please be careful when handling your Cover on Cover in cold temperatures, as it becomes more susceptible to damages if dropped or handled roughly.
- About the white silk print areas
The white cat whiskers on the cover exterior and the mmts logo on the interior are white ink silk-printed on top of the cover’s printed material. These delicate prints may peel or come off with daily use. If using a Cover on Cover, the silk printed spots may stick to the plastic and eventually come off with it from the constant contact.
- Pen holders are initially rigid
Hobonichi Techo covers come with pen holders that keep the pages shut. Depending on the material of the cover, pens with rubber grips may be difficult to slide into the holder.

- Maximum pen width for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Bookmark threads may be white
The two bookmarks were originally white and have been dyed, so stitching may expose an inner white portion where the dye did not reach.
- Cleaning a dirty cover
If you feel the surface of your cover has become dirty, we recommend dabbing the cover with a clean cloth dampened with diluted neutral detergent. Please do not use any kind of dryer on the material, as it may shrink, and air-dry it indoors or in the shade.
The white whiskers are a delicate silk print that may peel off, so please be careful not to rub or press on these areas too hard.
