Zippers by Kodue Hibino Zippers by Kodue Hibino Forest Bear

This unique, bear-shaped Zippers cover is a collaboration with costume artist Kodue Hibino that is meant to combine cute – and striking. The stumpy little ears, round black eyes and big wide zipper mouth are all quite charming. The gray linen embroidered with a forest of trees was created especially for this cover, and the use of two shades of green in the tree’s embroidery thread gives a mysterious sense of depth. The circular back pocket was designed to resemble the tail of the bear, and can also be used to store business cards and other useful items. Hibino’s trademark tag is attached to the back pocket. There are bells attached to the ends of the bookmarks, and yes, they do ring.

Important information

Colors on the screen may differ from actual product
Actual products are featured in all posted photographs,
but please note that colors may vary slightly from how it appears
on your computer monitor.
All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances
Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine.
Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but as these products are hand-made, covers are not made as exact copies.
A design unique from other Zippers covers
Please note that this cover, modeled after a cute stuffed animal,
is different from the other covers in that it features a different
layout, dual-opening zippers, and a different number of pockets.
Outer stitching
The embroidered pattern of trees along the cover may have trunks
and leaves which are not lined up exactly, or have long cross-over
threads between embroidered areas. Please note that these are
possible outcomes during the manufacturing process, and we ask
for your understanding. If a thread catches on something and is pulled out, do not pull on the loose thread. Use a scissors to carefully trim the loose thread shorter, but be careful not to cut the thread too short.
Color fading
Please avoid rubbing or wetting your cover as the colors may fade.
The bell on the end of the bookmark
The bell on the end of the bookmark is made of steel. To prevent
injuries, please do not press strongly or rub the edges of the bell.
Overstuffing the cover may result in tears
The Zippers cover series is designed to store tools, documents, and other stationary together with the planner book.
Attempts to close the cover when it contains too many items may damage the zipper or material. Please avoid storing more than the cover can hold, so the zipper can close easily.
Light-colored covers show smudges more easily
While some covers are water-repellent, smudges and marks are unavoidable from using the cover on a daily basis.
Smudges show up more easily on light-colored covers, so please keep this in mind when placing your order.
Inserting your planner into your cover
When inserting your planner book into your cover, it will be easier to begin by sliding the left side of the book into the left pocket, and then inserting the right side.
Pen holder
Hobonichi Techo covers come with pen holders that
keep the pages shut. This holder may be rigid upon
initial use, making pen insertion slightly difficult, but
kneading the pen holder open will make it easier to use.
Depending on the material of the cover, pens with
rubber grips may be difficult to slide into the holder.
Using fountain pens
Writing on the planner’s Tomoe River paper with a fountain pen may result in ink bleeds or transfers from wet ink.
When using water-based inks, we recommend testing the pen on an inconspicuous place in the book before using.
